Lorenzo Gil is an architect by the ETSAM since 2001. Like Luis Gil, he began collaborating with Frechilla Lopez-Pelaez Arquitectos, where he won several first prizes in national competitions, and directed execution projects and constructions as a senior architect of the studio before founding Plantea Studio with Luis. He is also working on his doctoral thesis, and since 2020 he has been a lecturer at the Architecture School of Toledo, which he combines with talks and critical sessions at the Architecture School of Madrid. His texts and papers have also been published in different books and specialised magazines.

Plantea is an architecture studio founded in 2012 by Lorenzo and Luis Gil, both architects from ETSAM. Their work, generally on a small to medium scale, covers a wide range of programmes. They have built nursery schools, offices, restaurants, cafés and multi-purpose spaces, always focusing an important part of their activity on private homes, and lately also on hotels. They have been published in numerous national and international media, including the refurbishment of the former Duque de Alba cinema, known as Sala Equis, which won the COAM First Prize for the best architectural work of 2018. In their day-to-day work, they try to balance knowledge and risk, technique and craftsmanship, past and future, without thinking about the success of the moment, but with the aim of building real places for real people.
