interihotel BCN23, the main hotel & restaurant design event in Europe, closed its doors last Friday, October 20 in Barcelona with the assitance of 7.244 professionals of the hospitality design industry. In the event, organised by Ambit, the attendees could enjoy a comprehensive exhibition area, filled with design products and materials from 184 brands specialised in contract, as well as a relevant program of talks, workshops and round tables.
As part of the opening ceremony from this year's edition, the jury unveiled the winners and finalists of the 6 categories of the interihotel Awards. The jury was made of, once again, representatives for leading entities from the industry: APDI, ARQUIN-FAD, BCD, COAC, CODIC, ELISAVA, Gremi d'Hotels de Barcelona, Gremi de Restauració de Barcelona, LCI, & Mujeres en Hospitality.
In this edition of interihotel, the architecture studios Capella-García Arquitectura and Francesc Rifé Studio have taken on challenges proposed by the hotel chain Senator Hotels & Resorts and the restaurant chain UDON Asian Foods.
In an ever-evolving world, the necessity to design a desirable future emerges. We find ourselves in a liminal space, in the threshold between the known and the unknown, and around this transition point is where the opportunities to create a desirable future lie.
